Understanding whiplash
Whiplash is a neck injury associated with a sudden movement of the head, often after an accident. Neck stiffness, pain and symptoms around the shoulders can occur, but your individual symptoms and the event need assessment.
Tell your practitioner about medical advice already received and any new neurological symptoms. Rehabilitation is based on the findings and your stage of recovery, rather than assuming the same treatment is appropriate after every collision.
Start with what happened and what has changed
Describe the collision or injury and when symptoms appeared. Bring any emergency-department advice, imaging reports and activity restrictions. Explain whether turning your head, sitting in a vehicle or carrying out your work has become difficult. New weakness, tingling or trouble walking needs urgent medical advice.
Plan rehabilitation around ordinary tasks
If physiotherapy is suitable, your visit can explore comfortable movement and a gradual return to the activities affected by the injury. Discuss which tasks matter first and how you will review your response. Our Bridgeland team can help you choose an appointment, but insurer approval and reimbursement must be confirmed separately; booking a visit does not establish coverage.
Assessment and treatment options
These are options to discuss after an assessment, not a recommendation to book every service. Your symptoms, health history, goals and preferences guide the plan.
